Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.84%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Semiconductor , Other Electronic and Electronics sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.84%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424 ), which rose 9.99% or 4.25 points to trade at 46.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Everlight Chemical Industrial Corp (TW:1711 ) added 9.98% or 2.45 points to end at 27.00 and Tong-Tai Machine Tool Co Ltd (TW:4526 ) was up 9.97% or 3.50 points to 38.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101 ), which fell 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443 ) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374 ) was down 4.50% or 6.50 points to 138.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424 ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.99% or 4.25 to 46.80. Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101 ) fell to all time lows; falling 9.95% or 0.21 to 1.90. Shares in Everlight Chemical Industrial Corp (TW:1711 ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.98% or 2.45 to 27.00. Shares in Tong-Tai Machine Tool Co Ltd (TW:4526 ) rose to 5-year highs; up 9.97% or 3.50 to 38.60.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.37% or 0.28 to $76.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.38% or 0.30 to hit $79.12 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 13.25 to trade at $2,547.05 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.28% to 31.98, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.40% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 101.31.
