Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 5.32%

On the other hand, Swan Energy Ltd.(down 13.21 per cent), Macrotech Developers Ltd.(down 9.68 per cent), Sobha Ltd.(down 9.39 per cent), Phoenix Mills Ltd.(down 7.71 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(down 5.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 5.32 per cent down at 826.5.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 338.0 points at 21997.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 906.07 points at 72761.89.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 ended in the green, while 43 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Infibeam Avenues and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Somi Conveyor, Modern Threads(India)Ltd., Diamond Power, Tarapur Trans and Intellect Design hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Marshall Machines, Shreeoswal Seeds, Commercial Syn Bags, Nandani Creation and R K Swamy hit their fresh 52-week lows.
