Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.91%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.91 per cent down at 18617.65.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Monday.Shares of GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.11 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.85 per cent), Sanofi India Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.16 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.01 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Biocon Ltd.(down 3.2 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 2.94 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 2.81 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 2.71 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.25 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.91 per cent down at 18617.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 246.91 points at 22272.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 845.12 points at 73399.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 ended in the green, while 44 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, ONGC and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Senco Gold, Ashiana Housing, Selan Expl Tech, Puravankara and Mahalaxmi Rub hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, Best Agrolife, SRM Contractors, Gopal Snacks and Rana Sugars hit their fresh 52-week lows.
