Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.56% in a weak market

Pfizer Ltd.(down 2.18 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.83 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.58 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.56 per cent at 18709.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 75.6 points at 22021.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 295.88 points at 72536.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Indus Towers and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Deep Industries, Onelife Capital, Apar Industries, Wonder Fibromats and Rolta India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Compuage Infocom, SCI Land and Assets, Infomedia Press, IIFL Finance and Penta Gold hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
