Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.25%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.25 per cent down at 19232.1.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Thursday.Shares of Biocon Ltd.(up 9.01 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 6.28 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.23 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 1.83 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.15 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.73 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 1.43 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.25 per cent down at 19232.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 201.06 points at 22821.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 692.27 points at 75074.51.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power, BHEL and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Wendt India, Nava Bharat Vent., Va Tech Wabag, Authum Investment and Minda Ind. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SecUR Credentials, Morarjee Text, Compuage Infocom, Atal Realtech and Neueon Towers hit their fresh 52-week lows.
