The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.57 per cent up at 18878.15.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 4.51 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.11 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 2.32 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.26 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.91 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.96 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.57 per cent up at 18878.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 167.95 points at 22570.35, while the BSE Sensex stood up 486.5 points at 74339.44.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 ended in the green, while 10 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Kotak Bank, South Indian Bnk and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Kirloskar Pneumatic, ABB Power, GPT Infraproj and MOIL hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kotak Bank, Dalmia Bharat, Atal Realtech, GIR Natureview and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
