Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.92% in a weak market

Sanofi India Ltd.(down 2.31 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 1.97 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.44 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.86 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.92 per cent at 19371.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 50.75 points at 22442.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 212.94 points at 73906.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Infibeam Avenues, Vodafone Idea, Jio Financial Servic and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Chemfab Alkalis, Kirloskar Bros., Torrent Power, KEC Int. and Trent hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vibhor Steel Tubes, Infomedia Press, Platinum Industries, Mask Investments and Stampede Cap(DVR)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
