Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.73% in an upbeat market

GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.72 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 0.5 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent) and Pfizer Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.73 per cent at 18721.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 69.3 points at 22471.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 264.28 points at 74117.22.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Kotak Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Raj Oil Mills, GPT Infraproj, Shradha Infraproject, GRSE and Yuken India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kotak Bank, Atal Realtech, Radaan Media, Melstar Info and Regency Ceramic hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
