Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.5%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.5 per cent up at 19838.5.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.18 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.83 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.73 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 0.69 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 0.65 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Granules India Ltd.(down 2.05 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.96 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent) and J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.43 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.5 per cent up at 19838.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 75.96 points at 23398.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 204.33 points at 76810.9.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Shree Ren Sug, Reliance Power, YES Bank and IRB Infra Dev. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Selan Expl Tech, Bharat Rasayan, DRC Systems India, Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar and GRSE hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Borosil Scientific, Kanani Inds, IndInfravit Trust, Ahimsa Ind and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
