Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.44% in an upbeat market

Granules India Ltd.(down 1.84 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.81 per cent) and Pfizer Ltd.(down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.44 per cent at 19245.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 100.5 points at 22614.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 353.51 points at 74601.73.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, IRB Infra Dev., YES Bank, Bandhan Bank and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Arvee Laboratories, Ind Swift Ltd, Sundaram Finance, Abans Holdings and Cinevista Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Blue Coast Hotel, Regency Ceramic, N K Industries and Peria Karamalai Tea hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
