Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.42%
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.42 per cent up at 18695.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 3.08 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 2.38 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.54 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 1.54 per cent) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.29 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sanofi India Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 0.57 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent) and GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.42 per cent up at 18695.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 124.6 points at 22147.9, while the BSE Sensex stood down 456.1 points at 72943.68.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ONGC, Exide Inds. and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ujaas Energy, Dynacons Sys, Uravi T and Wedge, AAA Technologies and Va Tech Wabag hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FutureLifestyleFash, MEP Infrastructure, Keerti Knowledge, Bandhan Bank and Signpost India hit their fresh 52-week lows.
