Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.05% in an upbeat market

Cipla Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.51 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.05 per cent at 19004.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 70.86 points at 22474.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 283.53 points at 73947.25.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, RattanIndia Power, Indian Railway Fin and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indian Hume Pipe, Crompton Greaves, ISMT Ltd, Cords Cable Ind and Kirloskar Elec hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Brightcom Group, N K Industries, SecUR Credentials, Mask Investments and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
