Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.89%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.89 per cent down at 32908.4.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Infosys Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Coforge Ltd.(down 10.1 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.19 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.89 per cent down at 32908.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 172.36 points at 22475.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 732.96 points at 73878.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, NHPC and IFCI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Rane Brake Lin, Arrow Greentech, Oriental Hotels, Univastu India and Hindustan Zinc hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adroit Infotech (PP), Emami Paper Mil, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Signpost India and Osia Hyper Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
