Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.78%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.78 per cent down at 35018.1.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.06 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.04 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.92 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 1.52 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 1.47 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.38 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.78 per cent down at 35018.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 234.4 points at 22519.4, while the BSE Sensex stood down 793.25 points at 74244.9.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 ended in the green, while 43 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Reliance Power and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Krystal Integrated, Nandan Denim, D P Abhushan, Yuken India and Puravankara hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sinclairs Hotel, Best Agrolife, HUL, Dabur India and MEP Infrastructure hit their fresh 52-week lows.
