Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.72% in an upbeat market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.72 per cent down at 34652.3.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:15AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.
MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.9 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.72 per cent at 34652.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 50.9 points at 23449.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 117.85 points at 76928.75.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Shree Ren Sug, RattanIndia Power, Suzlon Energy and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of DRC Systems India, Paras Defence, PTC Industries, Kaya and Indian Hume Pipe hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kanani Inds, GIR Natureview, IndInfravit Trust, 3rd Rock MultiMedia and Keerti Knowledge hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
