Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.68% in a weak market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.68 per cent down at 32976.8.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:44AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.Wipro Ltd.(up 0.2 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Coforge Ltd.(down 8.68 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.68 per cent at 32976.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 30.36 points at 22617.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 207.08 points at 74404.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, IFCI and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Taj GVK Hotels, Univastu India, Century Enka, Arrow Greentech and Ajanta Pharma hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adroit Infotech (PP), Signpost India, Melstar Info, Osia Hyper Retail and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
