Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.5%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.5 per cent down at 35247.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.37 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.24 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.82 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.61 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.5 per cent down at 35247.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 0.96 points at 22513.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 20.59 points at 74248.22.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 ended in the green, while 30 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, Indian Railway Fin and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Arvee Laboratories, SCI Land and Assets, Indraprastha Med, Automotive Stamp and Ind-Swift Labs hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bodhi Tree Multimed, GIR Natureview, Lakshmi Precis, BDR Buildcon and Nila Spaces L hit their fresh 52-week lows.
