Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.41%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.41 per cent down at 33335.15.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.78 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.43 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.32 per cent) and Coforge Ltd.(down 0.22 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.41 per cent down at 33335.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended 0.0 points at 22302.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 45.46 points at 73466.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Transwarr Fin, Bharat Forge, IRIS Business Servic, Pudumjee Paper Prod and CarTrade Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while PayTM, Gloster, Filatex Fash, GSS Infotech and Berger Paints hit their fresh 52-week lows.
