Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.3% in an upbeat market

MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.48 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.3 per cent at 33566.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 65.91 points at 22469.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 286.24 points at 73949.96.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, RattanIndia Power, Indian Railway Fin and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indian Hume Pipe, Crompton Greaves, ISMT Ltd, Cords Cable Ind and Kirloskar Elec hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Brightcom Group, N K Industries, SecUR Credentials, IndInfravit Trust and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
