Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.29% in an upbeat market

Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.29 per cent at 33481.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 89.2 points at 22732.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 289.49 points at 74960.77.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBFC Finance, HFCL and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Jana Small Finance B, Pudumjee Paper Prod, Ganges Securities, Summit Sec and DB(Intl)Stock hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Osia Hyper Retail, Sheela Foam, Popular Vehicles and Atal Realtech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
