Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.23% in an upbeat market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.23 per cent down at 34998.35.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:04AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.43 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.36 per cent) and Coforge Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.23 per cent at 34998.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 43.46 points at 22686.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 157.22 points at 74840.92.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Vedanta, SAIL and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Emkay Global, DC Infotech, GKW Ltd, Arvee Laboratories and Vedanta hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Digjam L, Visagar Polytex, BKM Industries and LCC Infotech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
