Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.02%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.02 per cent down at 33117.4.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.68 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.22 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.9 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.02 per cent down at 33117.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 17.3 points at 22200.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 117.58 points at 72987.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Canara Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kirloskar Bros., Kirloskar Pneumatic, ABB Power, D-Link(India)and Associated Alch hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Butterfly Gandhi, Future Supply Chain, GSS Infotech, Mask Investments and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
