Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 1.28% in an upbeat market
The Nifty IT index was trading 1.28 per cent up at 37792.15.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:19AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.Coforge Ltd.(up 3.14 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 2.98 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 2.16 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.6 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 1.57 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 1.28 per cent at 37792.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 73.96 points at 24360.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 271.46 points at 80258.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, HUDCO, Indian Renewable, HFCL and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of IFB Agro, Prime Focus, Country Club, Sunflag Iron and Skipper Ltd(PP)hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Supply Chain, Future Enterprises (DVR), Welspun Investments, GIR Natureview and IndInfravit Trust hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
