Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.69% in an upbeat market

Coforge Ltd.(down 2.34 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.69 per cent at 37203.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 82.46 points at 22080.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 188.47 points at 72950.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, Indian Railway Fin and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Somi Conveyor, Diamond Power, Modern Threads(India)Ltd., Tarapur Trans and Bharat Highways InvI hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shyam Telecom, Sanco Industries, Osia Hyper Retail, Mukka Proteins and BGR Energy hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
