Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.62% in an upbeat market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.62 per cent up at 34033.45.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:39AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 3.29 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 2.28 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 1.81 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.32 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.78 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Wipro Ltd.(down 1.48 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.62 per cent at 34033.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 27.21 points at 22984.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 181.05 points at 75591.44.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ujaas Energy, Ashima Ltd, JohnsonCtrls Hitachi, M M Forgings and Astra Microwave hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Best Agrolife, IKIO Lighting, Sintex Plastics Tech, Revathi Equipment and Morarjee Text hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
