Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.89%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.89 per cent down at 52342.25.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Punjab National Bank(up 3.41 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.74 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.9 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.59 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.55 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.84 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.67 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.6 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.89 per cent down at 52342.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 33.91 points at 24010.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 210.45 points at 79032.73.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, HFCL and Indus Towers were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of CDSL, Chola Fin Holdings, NBI Industrial, Solara Active Pharma(PP)and Kalyani Invst hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kanani Inds, Akme Fintrade(India, Hilton Metal, Future Supply Chain and Suumaya Lifestyle hit their fresh 52-week lows.
