Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.39% in a weak market

Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.7 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.96 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.82 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.8 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.39 per cent at 47648.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 47.0 points at 22446.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 207.4 points at 73911.99.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Infibeam Avenues, Vodafone Idea, Jio Financial Servic and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Chemfab Alkalis, Kirloskar Bros., Torrent Power, Trent and Kalpataru Power hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vibhor Steel Tubes, Infomedia Press, Mask Investments, Platinum Industries and Latteys Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
