Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.18% in a weak market

Punjab National Bank(down 3.54 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 2.58 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 2.02 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.99 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.18 per cent at 47196.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 88.11 points at 22247.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 129.91 points at 73538.05.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, ITC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Somi Conveyor, Intellect Design, Modern Threads(India)Ltd., Diamond Power and Dolphin Offshore hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while GRM Overseas, Sindhu Trade, Marshall Machines, Delta Corp and Total Transport Sys hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
