Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 2.54%
The Nifty Bank index closed 2.54 per cent up at 49424.05.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 6.37 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 4.72 per cent), State Bank of India(up 3.15 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 2.83 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 2.57 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 3.72 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.17 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 2.54 per cent up at 49424.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 223.46 points at 22643.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 941.12 points at 74671.28.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, Indian Renewable and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Archidply Ind, Supreme Ind., Lloyds Steels, Aegis Logistics and SMC Global Secur hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Atal Realtech, Future Supply Chain, Gloster and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
