Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.74%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.74 per cent up at 47924.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 4.18 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 3.79 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 2.42 per cent), State Bank of India(up 2.09 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.82 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.74 per cent up at 47924.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 189.41 points at 22336.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 560.29 points at 73648.62.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 ended in the green, while 6 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, Jio Financial Servic and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Hindustan Motor, Premier Exp, Lloyds Steels, Skipper Ltd(PP)and Kalyani Invst hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, CMI Ltd, Sumeet Ind, Sheela Foam and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
