Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.53%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.53 per cent up at 48986.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.Shares of IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 3.11 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 2.87 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 2.55 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 2.06 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 2.0 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.53 per cent up at 48986.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 111.05 points at 22753.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 354.45 points at 75038.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 19 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Vedanta, NMDC Steel and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ganges Securities, Emkay Global, Jubilant Ingrevia, DC Infotech and GKW Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Melstar Info, GIR Natureview, Websol Energy, Lakshmi Precis and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
