Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.4% in an upbeat market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.4 per cent up at 49623.45.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 09:59AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.99 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.05 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.96 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.88 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.55 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.4 per cent at 49623.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 92.7 points at 22736.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 279.98 points at 74951.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBFC Finance, HFCL and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Jana Small Finance B, Ganges Securities, Pudumjee Paper Prod, DB(Intl)Stock and Vesuvius India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Popular Vehicles and Atal Realtech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
