Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.28% in a weak market

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.01 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.32 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.25 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.28 per cent at 47758.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 113.06 points at 22321.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 321.79 points at 73555.03.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of KEC Int., Minda Ind., The Anup Engg, GE Power India and SRM Contractors hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Naga Dhunseri Group, DCM Financial, 3rd Rock MultiMedia, Mask Investments and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
