Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.26% in an upbeat market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.26 per cent up at 52562.4.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:55AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.Punjab National Bank(up 2.17 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.48 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.48 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.43 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.42 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.22 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.26 per cent at 52562.4 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 61.05 points at 24381.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 275.79 points at 80236.17.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Harrisons Malayalam, Kellton Tech, Bombay Burmah, Rossell India and Kaushalya Infra hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JP Associates, Vraj Iron & Steel, MEP Infrastructure, Zenith Exports and Praxis Home Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
