Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.1%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.1 per cent up at 47970.45.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.14 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.91 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bank of Baroda(down 0.45 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.19 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.1 per cent up at 47970.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 31.6 points at 22368.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 89.83 points at 73738.45.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Easy Trip Planners and Tata Tele were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Smartlink Holdings, Tejas Networks, Sudarshan Chemical, Cochin Shipyard and Indraprastha Med hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Tembo Global Indust, Atal Realtech, Best Agrolife, GIR Natureview and Lakshmi Precis hit their fresh 52-week lows.
