Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.09% in a weak market

Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.1 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.09 per cent at 48106.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 31.5 points at 22483.15, while the BSE Sensex was down 106.04 points at 74121.59.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, Reliance Power and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indraprastha Med, SCI Land and Assets, Bhartiya Intnl, RS Software and Viceroy Hotels hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bodhi Tree Multimed, Mask Investments, Antarctica Ltd, Ganga Forging and Crown Lifters hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
