Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.76%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.76 per cent down at 25130.85.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.Shares of Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 3.16 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(up 1.16 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tata Motors Ltd.(down 2.43 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 2.08 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.92 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 1.91 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.79 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.76 per cent down at 25130.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 18.11 points at 24123.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 34.74 points at 79441.45.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, Zomato and Motherson Sumi were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of G M Breweries, Dharmaj Crop Guard, JK Paper, Pudumjee Paper Prod and Refex Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Hilton Metal, Akme Fintrade(India, Baid Leasing, Future Supply Chain and Sarthak Metals hit their fresh 52-week lows.
