Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.54%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.54 per cent down at 25260.5.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Monday.Shares of Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.78 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(up 0.62 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.37 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.12 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bosch Ltd.(down 1.89 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 1.74 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 1.53 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.32 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.11 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.54 per cent down at 25260.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 3.3 points at 24320.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 36.22 points at 79960.38.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Alphageo , Shreyans Ind, Kriti Nutrients, Rail Vikas Nigam and Rashtriya Chemicals hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while CMI Ltd, Brightcom Group, Filatex Fashions, Sarthak Metals and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
