Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.44%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.44 per cent down at 25145.45.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Friday.Shares of Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.38 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.22 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.47 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 1.45 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.44 per cent down at 25145.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 186.21 points at 24502.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 622.0 points at 80519.34.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IRFC, Indian Renewable, YES Bank and IFCI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of AMJ Land Holdings, Railtel Corp, HPL Electric Power, IFCI and Cantabil Retail hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JP Associates, SecUR Credentials, Praxis Home Retail, Sarthak Metals and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
