Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.09% in an upbeat market

TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.1 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.09 per cent at 25234.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 59.15 points at 24375.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 109.63 points at 80006.97.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Renewable, YES Bank, NHPC and IRFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Career Point, HPL Electric Power, AMJ Land Holdings, Railtel Corp and Essar Shipping hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SecUR Credentials, JP Associates, Praxis Home Retail, Shyam Telecom and Salona Cotspin hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
