Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.08% in a weak market

Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.53 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.37 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.89 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.08 per cent at 20355.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 40.81 points at 21910.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 41.08 points at 72263.8.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Zee Ent. and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hind Rectifiers, Juniper Hotels, SoftTech Engineers, Sona BLW Precision and Venus Pipes & Tubes hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vibhor Steel Tubes, Indiabulls Intgrtd, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Peria Karamalai Tea and Capital Small Financ hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
