Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 2.56%
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.56 per cent up at 25020.2.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 5.84 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 4.04 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 3.44 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 3.01 per cent) and Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 2.99 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bosch Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.16 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.56 per cent up at 25020.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 468.75 points at 23290.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1618.85 points at 76693.36.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 ended in the green, while 2 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IRB Infra Dev., NHPC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of IIFL Securities, Zenith Exports, Pennar Ind, AdityaBirlaMoney and Associated Alcohols & Breweries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Supply Chain, Compuage Infocom, Morarjee Text, Neueon Towers and Atal Realtech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
