Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 2.45%
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.45 per cent up at 23992.7.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 5.59 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 5.1 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 3.46 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(up 3.42 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 3.25 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bosch Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 1.2 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.01 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.45 per cent up at 23992.7.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 733.21 points at 23263.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 2507.47 points at 76468.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IRB Infra Dev., NHPC and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of PTC Industries, Adani Power, GAIL, Power Finance Corp. and REC hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Filatex Fashions, Vaxtex Cotfab, Sintex Plastics Tech, Compuage Infocom and Revathi Equipment hit their fresh 52-week lows.
