Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 2.25%
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.25 per cent up at 23849.25.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.5 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 3.36 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 3.23 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 3.04 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 2.99 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.95 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 1.49 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent) and Bosch Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 2.25 per cent up at 23849.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 369.86 points at 22967.65, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1196.98 points at 75418.04.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 ended in the green, while 6 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of GRSE, Cochin Shipyard, Elgi Rubber Co, Max Estates and Signet Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Brightcom Group, United Polyfab Gujar, Atal Realtech, GSS Infotech and Megastar Foods hit their fresh 52-week lows.
