Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.83%
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.83 per cent up at 22874.8.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.93 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 3.53 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 3.24 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 3.21 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 2.61 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) and MRF Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.83 per cent up at 22874.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 113.8 points at 22217.85, while the BSE Sensex stood up 328.48 points at 73104.61.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, NHPC and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Aarti Pharmalabs, Peninsula Land, HG Infra Engg, BASF India and MRO-TEK Realty hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while GSS Infotech, Medico Remedies, Future Supply Chain, IRB InvIT Fund and Mask Investments hit their fresh 52-week lows.
