Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.67%
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.67 per cent up at 21046.4.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 3.64 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 3.61 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 2.45 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.23 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 1.85 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.22 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.12 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.67 per cent up at 21046.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 84.8 points at 22096.75, while the BSE Sensex stood up 190.75 points at 72831.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 ended in the green, while 13 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of eMudhra, Vadilal Ind, The Hi-Tech Gears, Shriram Pistons and Star Cement hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, SCI Land and Assets, Compuage Infocom, M K Proteins and Future Supply Chain hit their fresh 52-week lows.
