Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.02% in an upbeat market

Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 1.02 per cent at 20613.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 216.46 points at 22055.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 699.27 points at 72800.96.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 47 were trading in the green, while 3 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Tata Steel and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of eMudhra, Salzer Electro, Macpower CNC Machine, Cubex Tubings and ABB Power hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, Vaxtex Cotfab, Bohra Industries, M K Proteins and SCI Land and Assets hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
