Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.7%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.7 per cent up at 25393.2.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of Bosch Ltd.(up 3.26 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.67 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 1.75 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 0.88 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.45 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.53 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent) and Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.7 per cent up at 25393.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 75.96 points at 23398.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 204.33 points at 76810.9.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Shree Ren Sug, Reliance Power, YES Bank and IRB Infra Dev. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Selan Expl Tech, Bharat Rasayan, DRC Systems India, Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar and GRSE hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Borosil Scientific, Kanani Inds, IndInfravit Trust, Ahimsa Ind and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
