Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.45% in an upbeat market

Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.05 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.45 per cent at 25533.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 61.25 points at 24647.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 175.18 points at 80840.04.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, IRB Infra Dev., YES Bank, IRFC and IFCI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Keynote Financial, Sportking India, Mukka Proteins, Umang Dairies and Chennai Petro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Stampede Cap(DVR), SecUR Credentials, M M Forgings and Landmark Cars hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
