Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.4% in an upbeat market

Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.26 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.96 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.67 per cent) and Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.4 per cent at 20783.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 41.15 points at 22053.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 103.92 points at 72745.11.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, Tata Steel and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Jyoti CNC Automation, Ausom Enterprise, The Hi-Tech Gears, eMudhra and Shriram Pistons hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, Keerti Knowledge, SCI Land and Assets, M K Proteins and Akshar Spintex hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
